What are “high tech army boots”?

I have signed up for several army school. Several of the course descriptions say "no high tech boots" Do I need to contact each school and ask them what they mean by "high tech army boots?" or is there a unified army standard for high tech army boots?
SPECIFICALLY, would Oakley SI Assault boots be "high tech" boots?
And would Danner TFX boots be "high tech" boots?

I work for the forest service, and I spend 10 hours a day 6 days a week in the woods. I currently own a pair of danner work boots and **** them because after 3 months they are falling apart. What is the best pair of vibram soled work boots, price not being an problem.

Is Oakley's "SI Hot Weather Assault Boot Inch 6" (22 oz) better than the "Danner Terra Force X 9 Inch" (32 oz)? I have several pair of Danners (nice boot, a bit heavy), but how are the Oakley SI 6 inch Assault book?
Boots to be used for very fast (sometimes running) ruck marching. After 6 miles the Danners feel like heavy bricks. 48lb at an average of 14 minutes per mile.

I am looking for the lightest army combat boot on the market. I have the army issue and a pair of Danner's TFX Terra Force X (tan suede); I would like to go lighter. I am training for speed ruck marching (12 Mile, 48 lbs, 15 minute miles). I have good ruck marching technics. Boots could be a bit lighter.

What is the best boot to wear for the police academy?

I had a surgery last year, I have pins in my foot and a couple fused joints (but still have dorsal movement, just not lateral). Anyway, my left foot is 1 1/2 sizes difference. (my left foot is 9.5 and my right is an 11). My problem is, Danner is the best boot for law enforcement, but they wont sell split size shoes. Anybody know of a place that does?
I already have my PT shoes. I managed to find a company called Brooks, that will sell split size shoes.
Army soldiers and Marines answer please Danner boots or belleville boots?

Hi all! I'm looking to find a name of a boot that the usmc said was not authorized. However, they were cheaper than danner's about the same quality, were a lot lighter, and resembled a tennis shoe. Before deploying with 1/8 we were told the unit would not be authorized to wear them. I cant remember the name of them for the life of me. Any help would be appreciated. They were definitely not an issue boot such as belleville or bates.

I remember now they were simply "SWAT" brand boots. Everyone who bought some before deployment was pissed because tehy could not wear them because they lacked teh eagle globe and anchor . I however bought my second pair of danner boots before getting in country they have worked exceptionally well. I was just trying to remember what they were. Everyone boasted that they felt like tennis shoes and cost under $75. You are all right however take care of your feet and tehy will take care of you.
no im not over there anymore i got back in april and have since discharged. Luckily my whole platoon came back thanks for support!
Sole Inserts Can Breather New Life into Old Boots
Posted by: | CommentsOver the years, I've had a number of pairs of great boots that just plain wore out over time. I nursed my favorite pair of Rocky boots until they were almost in pieces.
A hunting buddy of mine happened to mention that he was using sole inserts like Dr. Scholl's to get some extra life out of his boots. I was intrigued so I asked for more info. He reported that his favorite pair of boots (it's amazing how attached hunters get to a "favorite" pair of boots) were on their next to last leg as the internal sole was all torn up and was getting darn near impossible for him to wear. On his wife's suggestion, he decided to try a pair of those Dr. Scholl's type inserts in his boots. In his words, the results were "amazing".
I'm kind of a "show me" kind of guy so I grabbed a pair of the fitted internal soles to try out. While I wasn't amazed, I was pleasantly surprised. The inserts made a huge improvement in both the comfort and stability of my foot in the boot. I decided to really out them to the test a few weeks ago when I went out to help a buddy train his new squirrel dog. I probably put close to 5 miles on the new internal soles that day and my feet felt great. Normally, they get pretty sore in that particular pair of boots.
The moral of the story: if you have a well worn pair of boots that are causing a problem due to the wear on the internal sole, give this tip a try. You might find that you can get another season or two out of that pair of boots and put the money you saved towards a new hunting toy.
