Are hunting boots good to wear with snowshoes?

Couple of friends of mine plan on snowshoeing for the first time. I was wondering if good hunting boots would work. Or would you want a lower ankle boot with them? We don't plan on going long distance or for extended time. Just to get back to a cabin.

I wear my regular hunting boots with them. They are a pair of Rocky Lynx boots. I don’t think a pair of low ankle boots would be any better, and seeing as how your not going far why spend the money on a separate pair.

if your comfortable walking in the hunting boots they should be fine for a causual snowshoe trip. most popular foot ware for snowshoeing would be ankle high hiking boot with a pair of gaitors to keep snow of your legs. have fun
