A Remington 870 is a sensible, and inexpensive shotgun. My brother bought his for $219 plus tax. It’s well made and has a lively after-market part following – which means you can find barrells and other accessories for it easily, should you change the type of game you are hunting.

A Mossberg 500 is pretty reasonably priced as well. If you are looking for one under $200, visit some local gun-stores and see if they have any on consignment for sale.

For the gun, I’d use 30-06. I’ve used it for 8 years. But for your clothes, I got some decent clothing off Field and Stream. They have excellent deals, I would suggest them. Happy hunting

Good Boots and clothes are usually the ones with thousands of grams of Thinsulate. A really good deer gun you will probably have to get used. One great gun is the Remington 1100. At the gun site, there are cheap auctions. This is where my family gets most of our guns.

Follow the links on the bottom to see the places to get them at.

Go get a New England Fire Arms Tracker II. It is a single shot slug gun designed for deer hunting.

I bought one last year and it is a great gun. I only cost me $145.

The savings there can be used on getting a pair of quality boots.
