I don’t know of any pit viper repellent on the market. I live in Arkansas and know where you’re coming from. The only advise I can give is be extremely vigilant. I was fishing a couple of years ago and was down on my knees when I looked down and there was a baby cottonmouth moccasin. I had only a split second before he would have bit me in the bag to pull my .38 and shoot him in the head.

i also live in arkansas and used to do alot of hunting over by nimrod lake (yell county). i used to kill every snake i saw until i went to get some water out of the creek to mix my “deer cocaine” with, i had to walk thru knee high grass that was growing on the rock levi there. i looked down and i was standing smack in the middle of a nest of cottonmouths. there was three within a foot of my legs and two more that i done walked past (allready coiled). they could have had me anytime they wanted but played dead instead. i slowly stepped thru them and went back to the bank, got a stick and went back to smack some snake ****. when i got there they had went back into the creek. now i cant seem to kill one, cause they let me go.

Noise helps. Movement of any kind. Leather for those boots and really thick socks. Usually the Turkeys motion and clucking will keep them at bay. Good Luck.

Snakes are one of the surprises of Turkey hunting…I know of nothing that is proven as a snake repellent….I am always careful not to crawl into a bed of honeysuckles, and sit on one, and try to be aware of crawly sounds, and motion around me…..It is just a pitfall of the sport…..

They aren’t going to kill you man, unless you are a child or elderly and remain calm then you’ll be ok.
I live in Arkansas and its been 16 years since someone has been killed by a snake, and that was a kid.
Ever seen a dog that been bit by a snake? They go lay down, and you should take note. If you ever do get bit, identify the snake.. and them calmly walk back to your truck. If your heart rate starts to increase, then just take a break.
So far as I know anything you use to get rid of the snakes, will also get rid of the turkey. Just dont worry about it man, your not going to die from a snake bit unless you lose your head and start running around in circles lol

They are just as afraid of you, as you are of them.* They will try very hard to avoid human contact.* Just remember to look & listen.*

Dang mutt, Thank fully the only snakes around here are bull, king and garter snakes. Don’t have to worry about the venom.
I had a bull snake come up to me when I was parked next to a tree last fall deer season. I don’t like snakes. But that is just me. Add venom to that and I’d be a bit more cautious about where I plant my seat.
