What are your favorite pair of duty boots?
Posted by: | CommentsI was issued some cheap Hi-Tech or whatever they are called, but they hurt my feet after a few hours - among the boots in my collection I have a pair of Danner Striker GTX that I bought in 2003 that still look good and feel great.

Danner Frontier Extreme Boots
Posted by: | CommentsIn 2003, Danner boots introduced their Frontier Extreme boot. The boot was exclusively designed for large game hunting within the western United States. It is a 10 inch all leather boot that's created for harsh conditions that you may face when hunting deer, elk, bear, or even mountain lion in the western part of the country. There are several models within the Frontier collection of Danner boots, and every offers the comfort and ease and durability needed for big game hunting in the west.

As with any Danner boot, the Frontier boots have stitchdown construction. This trademark of Danner boots provides support and durability for that boot, helping it to hold up in harsh problems. These boots also consist of a new sole. By combining a difficult perimeter lug and soft inner lugs, the boots offer durability and great traction at the same time. It's the ideal sole for the harsh conditions within the wilds of the west. In addition, the tongue is padded and there is triple stitching in the upper so that those long days in the bush are simpler on your feet.
This specific Danner boot offers complete grain leather on the upper that's also waterproof and a full ten inches. The result is fantastic assistance. The weather out west could be unpredictably cold, wet, and harsh. This Danner boot takes that into account. By utilizing a Gore-Tex liner and Thinsulate insulation within the boot, your feet will stay warm and dry in those tough Rocky Mountain or Plains problems as you track that trophy.

Located in Portland, Oregon, the individuals who design Danner boots are familiar with the weather and terrain of the American west. They have a history of producing innovative, functional footwear. The Danner shoes and Danner boots are created with excellent attention to craftsmanship and quality. The Frontier collection of big game hunting boots is no exception. The complete grain leather, additional support, water proofing, insulation, and attention to stitching detail will assist large game hunters within the western United States to endure long days on tough terrain in harsh weather problems.
I got blisters on my heel from a 6 mile hike. What should I change in my boots?
Posted by: | CommentsWe did a 6 mile force march today and I got blisters on directly under my heel. It is painful to put pressure on that foot, and I have let the fluid drain to release the pressure. I am currently wearing size 9 EE Danner 26027 boots. I am thinking about buying some Danner 26014. What should I change to prevent the blisters. I was thinking smaller by 1/2 size because my feel are sliding???? I don't get blisters when walking around base, just the long hike. I have done some runs (up to 2 mi) in them with no blisters as well. I want the 26014's for running and marches.

USMC Boot Brand Differences?
Posted by: | CommentsI am preparing to begin officer training for the Marine Corps and have been told to obtain a pair of USMC approved boots prior to leaving for training. While looking for boots at quanticoboot.com, I noticed that there were 3 primary brands: Danner, Bates, and Belleville. I was simply wondering if there are any Marines (or experienced civilians) who could fill me in on the actual differences (primarily the functional and comfort differences) between these different manufacturers boots and perhaps provide a recommendation for which brand to go with. I understand that alot of this is subjective and will vary from person to person, but I am completely blind at this point and would appreciate any insight that I can recieve with this subject.
Thank you to everyone who has responded so far, particularly Lyn, your offer for help has to be the most generous I have seen yet on Y!Answers. One thing I would like to clarify though is that I am not going to Boot Camp, I am attending OCS. For OCS it is required that you begin PTing in boots before you arrive at training. It is also recomended to have broken in boots by the time training starts, hence the prompting for the question. Hope this makes a bit more sense to everyone out there, and thanks again for all your answers.

Which combat boots should I get?
Posted by: | CommentsI have been thinking about getting a new pair of combat boots because the issue ones are pretty uncomfortable. Before I spend the money I wanted to see what other people think.
These are my top two picks so far:

and
http://www.danner.com/product/id/104123.do
I am in the army and as far as I know the boots can't have a side zipper and have to be "dessert tan"
Oh, and the first pair can be ordered in the regular dessert tan.
what is the best boot to wear for the police academy?
Posted by: | CommentsI had a surgery last year, I have pins in my foot and a couple fused joints (but still have dorsal movement, just not lateral). Anyway, my left foot is 1 1/2 sizes difference. (my left foot is 9.5 and my right is an 11). My problem is, Danner is the best boot for law enforcement, but they wont sell split size shoes. Anybody know of a place that does?
