Where is a good place to buy boots in San Francisco?

Answer if you know a thing or two about footwear?
Posted by: | CommentsI've got a 3 year old pair of Wolverine boots. I love them and they are still in great shape other than the soles. They are worn flat. They aren't stiched on, but instead it looks like they're glued on ( i think thats called cement construction). Can I get them resoled? And if so, how much does that usually cost?
I use these boots to work in by the way. I don't think there are any better work, or outdoor boots than Wolverine.
Can you change color of real leather boots?
Posted by: | CommentsI bought this really nice pair of Wolverine boots. I really wanted black but all they had was a rust color.
Is there anyway to stain them black without losing the quality?
Work boot to purchase?
Posted by: | CommentsProbably headed to the store tommrow, choice is between a wolverine, a sears diehard (cheap!).. Or a catapillar (most likely). Catapillar sounds nice, wolverine sounds fancy... sears sounds cheerful in the pocket book. Walmart sounds ok but their shoes are always ugly, but I guess the die-hards are the same. lol. I've been trying to find a pair at 2nd hand stores. Found a pair a size to big... just going to purchase a new pair as I need to start work soon - any suggestions would be helpful. Which work boots (steel toe)... have you guys been most comfortable in? I don't want a hurt foot, returning shoes to the store, etc. And I almost want a long 8inch boot one that goes high but... unsure if thats smart. I also want to use these for the outdoors and traveling so weight and functionality is probably a issue.
I know, I've contemplated that scenario - unfortunatly most places want you to have a steel toe. Its really one of those "if I give my a kid a crayon, and he eats it.. he might choke, but if he trys to draw with spraypaint..." type of deals.
The way I look at it, is if you where to happen to have a large object fall on your "steel toe"... It would give added support - thats pretty much a shovel or rock. Yet if a metal object, larger... falls.... it equals bye bye to toes.
What gets me is the side of the debate that without the steel toe ='s severed, deformed, detached, and crushed toes?

Can I buy boots that are a size smaller than my regular foot size?
Posted by: | CommentsHello. I'm looking at buying a pair of Wolverine work boots. However, it's a clearance sale and they don't have my size. My foot size is 10, however, I find that size 9.5 feels nice and snug (which I like)
The boots I want are available only in size 9. Would this be a problem for my size 10 feet?
If it is a problem, there are steel-toe boots available in my size. What are the benefits of steel-toe? Do they make the boots any heavier?
why do my new boots squeak?
Posted by: | Commentsthey squeak when i walk on tile or anything like that, its the sole that squeaking btw. i dont know how to stop them from squeaking and i dont want to return them cause there good boots. there wolverine boots.
Can I use loggers boots for hiking?

How good are wolverine boots/treads?
Posted by: | CommentsI want to get a pair of wolverine boots (wo2582, which have the durashock) but the tread does not seem very deep. I would **** to buy a 150$ pair of boots only for the tread to be worn down in a short amount of time.
So, how good are wolverine boots for longevity and durability?
These are actually work boots. This just seemed like a reasonable section to post my question. My main concern is durability and longevity of the boots.
