What is the best boot to wear for the police academy?

danner boots
flyboy_2992 asked:

I had a surgery last year, I have pins in my foot and a couple fused joints (but still have dorsal movement, just not lateral). Anyway, my left foot is 1 1/2 sizes difference. (my left foot is 9.5 and my right is an 11). My problem is, Danner is the best boot for law enforcement, but they wont sell split size shoes. Anybody know of a place that does?
I already have my PT shoes. I managed to find a company called Brooks, that will sell split size shoes.

I don’t know of any manufacturer that will split sizes, you may have to buy two pair and **** it up. If you’re going to the academy, a good pair of running shoes is more important than boots. You’ll need them for the PT.

Belleville is also a good boot. Maybe you can contact them and see if they can split your sizes.

I must say that I loved my Danners for the Academy. They were probably the most comfortable thing I had ever worn, as far as boots were concerned. They do have a drawback, though (besides being comparatively expensive [$250/pair]), and that is that they are a pain to shine. At least, the full leather Recon was. May I suggest going with an all leather pair of Rocky’s? Still a good, comfortable boot, take a shine better, and are about half the cost. No advice on the split size thing; I cant think of anyone who would sell them split.
